Prepare for Summer 2023 (and Beyond)
Published on 2 April 2023 in Tips-N-Tricks
Closing up your winter getaway always is bitter-sweet. There're so many things you wanted to do over the winter, so many people to spend time with, but then (as if out of nowhere) winter ends. Leaving things to the last minute is natural--we all do it--but there are things you can do before you head out the door.
First, hire a trusted partner to help you keep tabs on your home while you're away (in fact, why not us!) Then, it's time to buy a few odds-n-ends to prepare your HomeWatch partner keep things running smoothly over the summer. Here's a good list:
- Vinegar for your A/C drain line. (Did you know that EPA recommends vinegar over bleach to kill mold and mildew?)
- Bleach: a little splash in toilet bowls between visits helps to keep gross mold & mildew at bay.
- Extra trash bin liners and paper towels in case something goes bad in the fridge.
- Popsicles: instead of putting a penny on top of a frozen glass of water (which evaporates in defrost freezers) a plastic-sealed popsicle is a great way for your HomeWatch partner to see if there was a power outage long enough to spoil food between visits.
- Simple Green (or similar) cleanser.
With some foresight, you can empower your Homewatch partner to keep better tabs on your winter home when you're away. If you haven't already done so, contact us today to setup an appointment to get your service setup for the coming summer months.
